Although engineers and scientists are highly skilled and educated technically, one of the most challenging abilities to build is effective collaboration with others on projects or leading people. The same is true for any leadership discipline—people are not naturally born leaders. Developing leadership skills is essential whether transitioning from being an individual contributor to taking on a management role. Every stakeholder is a leader, whether one has the title or not.
